Some people work with light. Ekta Sanghvvi converses with it.

As our Principal Designer and Managing Director, Ekta has spent over two decades redefining how light touches human lives. Bridging the worlds of science and art with rare fluency, she combines an educational foundation in Electronics Engineering with advanced specializations from the Lighting Research Center in New York and the DIAL Institute in Germany. Her design philosophy is rooted in elegant restraint, doing more with less, championing energy efficiency, and making a profound impact without being loud.

Affectionately known in the industry as “The Nightingale of India,” her journey is one of bold vision and pioneering milestones:

• Global Architecture Honors: Her work on the landmark One Green Mile project in Mumbai earned two prestigious honors from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) – the Merit Award for Urban Design and the Merit Award for Sustainability.
• National & International Acclai: Conferred with the WADE ASIA Award for Best Use of Lighting in Interiors, the Business Excellence Award for Best Women Lighting Designer by the Royal Kingdom of Cambodia, and the Pride of Maharashtra Award. She was also featured in a celebrated cover story for Femina Magazine.
• Industry & Civic Impact: Beyond designing landmark IT parks, townships, and civic infrastructure—including projects felicitated by government leadership -she is an inventor of patented outdoor lighting solutions, a founding voice of the Lighting Designers Association of India (LIDAI), and serves as a Mentor of Change under NITI Aayog’s AIM programme.

At her core, Ekta is a reminder that the most powerful designs are the ones that make you feel something the moment the lights come on.
